Document controller – Arendal

Introduction

Work Location: Arendal 
Start date: ASAP 
Duration: 2 years 

Function

  • Handling of all technical documentation for assigned project / department / unit, internal or fromsuppliers, partners or clients, using applicable EDMS (IFS / ProArc)
  • Ensure that all documentation is properly controlled, archived, readily retrievable and secured
  • Expedite outstanding documentation and comments
  • Process feedback and comments in EDMS and forward relevant documents both internally andexternally as appropriate
  • Follow-up and secure timely delivery of all technical documentation
  • Implement procedures, guidelines, Standards, Work Instructions and, if applicable, Client requirementsfor the Document Control function.
  • Participate in all phases of Projects from concept development, tender, bids, FEEDs, construction,commissioning, execution, modification to completion
  • Guide relevant personnel in the use of the EDMS
  • Follow up and secure timely delivery of all technical documentation in the Project
  • Follow Project into Operation for a period ensuring good handover from project to operation
  • The Fleet / Operation DC is responsible to ensure proper maintenance of records in EDMS fromproject handover, MMP (if appropriate), creating new records to decommissioning of a unit
  • Guide relevant personnel in the use of the EDMS
  • Ensure timely delivery of all DFO to facilities
  • Work closely with and actively support all relevant departments
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Education

  • Ideally higher technical diploma, e.g. Polytechnic or general High School diploma
  • Relevant experience may replace formal education

Experience

  • Ideally three years’ experience from offshore projects as document controller
  • Previous experience with EDMS systems is an advantage

Interpersonal skills

  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Structural, analytical and with good attention to details
  • Able to work under pressure, delivering high quality work on time
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of EDMS systems, e.g. ProArc, Documentum, IFS etc.
  • Familiar with technical coding system and document numbering system
  • Knowledge of technical documentation within the Oil & Gas industry
  • IT literate
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

Other

  • The position may require temporary assignments at project premises or on-board units
  • The position may require travel and long working hours in peak periods
