Lead Engineer SURF – Stavanger

Function

The successful candidate will be working in a team with other subsea engineers. The primary role is to be acting as SURF Delivery Lead in company on tasks related to the development project from Pre-FEED / FEED through to Start-up and handover to operations. In addition, the candidate shall be responsible for the EPRD contract with support from other resource.

Some ad-hoc support to an operated subsea asset which is currently shut-in may also be required.
Development Project (typically 80% initially, 100% when Decommissioning project is completed)
In the Development Project, the SPS & SURF scope shall be managed by two senior subsea engineers, where this job description is describing the functions for the SURF Lead Engineer.

Typical tasks, in close cooperation with the SPS Lead Engineer will include:
• Lead the development and contract award for the SPS/SURF EPCI scope and ensure that the scope for SPS/SURF is comprehensive and clear on the interface responsibilities
• Management of Subsea Contractors’ delivery during Pre-FEED/FEED in support of the PDO submission and subsequently the delivery of the SPS/SURF scope
• Ensure implementation of the BoD requirements into the design
• Identify and manage any deviations to BoD, regulatory requirements, specifications and industry standards
• Ensure that the delivery is integrated between the SPS/SURF, Host Platform as well as integration across the Company discipline teams, including Subsurface, Drilling & Wells, Operations, HSE, System Engineering and Integrity Assurance, Contracts & Procurement, QA and Project Controls (including Information Management)
• Manage an effective risk and performance process in the SPS/SURF delivery
• Implementation and application of company’s project governance processes to support effective project delivery
• Manage Company’s follow-up of work at fabrication / manufacturing sites including participation in FATs, EFATs and SITs
• Manage the Offshore Installation of SPS/SURF delivery
• Manage the project deliveries to meet the Governance / assurance requirements for upcoming Stage Gates (DG2, DG3 and DG4)

The role opens for possibility to work offshore as Company Representative for the installation phase
• Decommissioning (typically 20% initially)
• In addition to the primary role as SURF lead for the development project the candidate shall beacting as Facilities Removal Lead for an EPRD contract in relation to facilities removal fora subsea field. For this project, another
resource will be supporting this the project in an 80% role.
• The EPRD contract is planned to be awarded in April 2021.

Typical tasks will include:
• Manage the EPRD scope with support for another resource who will be acting as Company Representative towards the EPRD Contractor
• Ensure implementation of the FBoAD requirements in accordance with the Contract
• Manage any deviations to the Contract incl. SOW, FBoAD, regulatory requirements, specifications and industry standards towards EPRD Contractor and other stakeholders
• Ensure that the decommissioning delivery is integrated between the Facilities Removal, Interfacing Operators, Host Platform as well as integration across the Company discipline teams, including Subsurface, Drilling & Wells,
Operations, HSE, Integrity Assurance, Contracts & Procurement, QA and Project Controls (incl. Information Management)
• Manage an effective risk and performance process in the Facilities Removal scope
• Review of Offshore Removal and Disposal Procedures
• Manage the project deliveries to meet the Governance / assurance requirements for upcoming Stage Gates (DG3 and DG4)

The role opens for possibility to work offshore as Company Representative for the removal/disposal phase

Requirements

• Engineering degree at BSc, BEng (Hons) or Master level
• A valid Offshore Medical and Survival Certificate is not an absolute requirement, however – availability, experience, and willingness to take on role as Offshore Client Representative, which require such certificate, is an
advantageProfessional experience
• Documented experience from similar positions in Projects, primarily with Oil and Gas Operator Companies in Norway. Experience from service companies may also be considered
• Minimum 15 yrs. experience in SPS & SURF Development Projects
• Experience in decommissioning of subsea fields is an advantage
• Experience with development, design and fabrication of subsea systems with attention to structural design and tie-in systems (e.g. pipelines, spools, PLET’s, templates, manifolds and associated tie-in systems)
• Demonstrable experience managing technical facilities interfaces
• Willingness and ability to travel offshore
• Good knowledge to standards used for development of subsea fields on NCS
• Experience in follow-up of work at fabrication / manufacturing sites
• Experience with engineering, assurance and governance activities
• Experience from MC, pre commissioning and commissioning activities
• Fluent English and preferably Norwegian
• Structured and disciplined understanding framing of the work, managing deviations outside of the framing, delivery in accordance with a project schedule and managing impact wherever deviations to original plan are required
• Service minded, team player
• IT/PC-skills, minimum MS Office package – other relevant IT skills are also an advantage but not a requirement
• Management of follow-up activities of work at sites

Some travel will be expected (Covid 19 dependent)
