Function

As part of our Dovre Group Finance team, you are responsible for ensuring high-quality, professional, and technical full lifecycle for payrolling processes. You will be the point of contact for all payroll related inquiries from employees to ensure prompt and timely resolution of payroll concerns.

Role Description:

  • Responsible for preparing timely and accurate semi-monthly payrolls using ADP.
  • Manages time tracker spreadsheet, including reviewing timesheets and calculating hours for Statutory holidays, vacation & hours worked.
  • Create a CSV file with hours for payroll.
  • Upload CSV payroll file into ADP.
  • Preview payroll register to ensure hours and salary are correct prior to submitting.
  • Ensures adherence to legislation compliance, government regulations, statutory filings, payroll reconciliation, payroll deductions, etc.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining policies and procedures related to payroll processes.
  • Ensures payroll data integrity, including periodic payroll system audits for employee changes, terminations, deductions, etc.
  • Liaison with recruitment team with respect to employment agreements and onboarding documents.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Client contracts pertaining to personnel pay rates, hours of work and related employment terms and conditions.
  • Enroll new hires in ADP
  • Enter and review all onboarding documents into ADP.
  • Prepare ROE upon termination of employee.
  • Ensure any employment changes are entered into ADP, such as pay rates, extensions, accrued vacation hours, etc.
  • Communicate with employees regarding their payroll questions.
  • Track monthly safety hours per client requirements.
  • Reporting required by clients, example safety hours.
  • Payroll and vacation accruals
  • Review taxable sales to make sure monthly billings are correct
  • Comprehensive understanding of Dovre Group Health Benefits plan.
  • Set up and terminate employees for Group Health Benefits.
  • Convert USD payrate to CAD as required.
  • Working knowledge of other provincial jurisdictions for payroll as may be required.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Education such as University degree or Graduate from recognized college (degree in Finance/Accounting or Business preferred)
  • Proficient in ADP and advance level of Excel
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Industry experience (Utilities / Mining / Marine / Oil & Gas, Wind Energy)
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with shifting priorities, challenges, and multiple deadlines
