Quality Control Manager – New Construction – Halifax,NS
Introduction
Dovre Group is pleased to present the following opportunity: Quality Control Manager – New Construction located in Halifax, NS. This is a permanent full-time role.
Function
Key Responsibilities:
- Sets priorities for QC team to ensure performance targets are met
- Liaise with Class and Customer to address emerging issues and concerns
- Monitor ITP to ensure inspections and tests required to meet milestones are completed and properly documented
- Develop and maintain QC checkpoints to align with business needs and trends to identify risk at earliest opportunity
- Liaise with production and other internal stakeholders to communicate quality findings and lead actions to rectify
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Registered P. Eng designation required or ability to attain one through Engineers Nova Scotia
Experience required:
- 5+ years working in Quality Control within the Shipbuilding Industry
- Supervisory experience within the Shipbuilding Industry is required
- Experience within a naval new build environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO compliance standards
- Ability to manage through teamwork and influence direct and non-direct reports
- Experience in a unionized setting
- Experience in Manufacturing and/or Heavy Industry
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse workforce
- Excellent computer systems skills; MS Office
- Customer focused individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
