Quality Control Manager – New Construction – Halifax,NS

Introduction

Dovre Group is pleased to present the following opportunity: Quality Control Manager – New Construction located in Halifax, NS. This is a permanent full-time role.

Function

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets priorities for QC team to ensure performance targets are met
  • Liaise with Class and Customer to address emerging issues and concerns
  • Monitor ITP to ensure inspections and tests required to meet milestones are completed and properly documented
  • Develop and maintain QC checkpoints to align with business needs and trends to identify risk at earliest opportunity
  • Liaise with production and other internal stakeholders to communicate quality findings and lead actions to rectify

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered P. Eng designation required or ability to attain one through Engineers Nova Scotia

Experience required:

  • 5+ years working in Quality Control within the Shipbuilding Industry
  • Supervisory experience within the Shipbuilding Industry is required
  • Experience within a naval new build environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO compliance standards
  • Ability to manage through teamwork and influence direct and non-direct reports
  • Experience in a unionized setting
  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Heavy Industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse workforce
  • Excellent computer systems skills; MS Office
  • Customer focused individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
