Quality Specialist – Halifax, NS


Dovre Group is pleased to present the following opportunity: Quality Specialist. This is a permanent full-time role located in Halifax, NS.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis, and 8D and PDCA methodology to ensure that non-conformances are contained, root causes are determined and corrected, and recurrence is prevented;
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure that the company is in compliance with their Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015 requirements;
  • Review and approve Containment and Corrective action plans for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) submitted by Supply Chain personnel;
  • Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and/or special projects regarding the noncompliance of Supply Chain technical requirements;
  • Evaluate new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity, and compliance to requirements;
  • Assess and assure Supply Chain Quality performance using performance management tools;
  • Drive internal and external process improvements utilizing Lean methodologies to continuously improve cost, quality, and efficiency;
  • Act as a general Quality Ambassador and coach for the Supply Chain Team and other departments in association with the Company’s first-time right objectives.



  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or equivalent;
  • Experience Required: 3+ years of related experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace or constructions industries;
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent of Continuous Improvement experience;
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and knowledge of manufacturing processes;
  • Numerically astute with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills, visual data management, root cause analysis tools, and expertise to develop and execute objectives;
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management Systems;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • A self-starter and team-oriented individual possessing a strong work ethic, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently;
  • Data management and visual presentation experience (SQL, COGNOS, Tableau, etc.) is an asset.
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
