Senior Naval Architect – Halifax, NS


Dovre Group is pleased to present the following opportunity: Senior Naval Architect. This is a permanent full-time role located in Halifax, NS.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Engineering Project Management oversight over design agent subcontractors to ensure on time delivery of design products that are compliant with the Royal Canadian Navy’s requirements
  • Develop and present summary presentations to keep Company management informed of SWaP-C margin consumption trends throughout design and construction
  • Develop and present training bulletins and presentation to an industry team to raise awareness of weight control measures
  • Develop and present training bulletins and presentation to an industry team to raise awareness of weight control measures
  • Support the delivery of platform systems VFI to the design agent by supporting the Company’s supply chain through the evaluation and selection of vendor proposals and deliverables
  • Provide engineering support to internal stakeholders within the Company to support construction readiness



  • Academically qualified with a recognized university bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering.
  • 8 Years or more experience in supporting Naval Shipbuilding projects
  • Nova Scotia Professional Engineer (P.Eng) License or equivalent Professional Engineering License
  • Experience in managing subcontracted design agent design activities and deliverables
  • Experience with managing deliverables required to support naval ship classification and certification
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
